The Devil Wears Prada extends run to autumn 2027 at London’s Dominion Theatre
The smash-hit musical based on the film starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep has just added more shows
The Devil Wears Prada has extended its booking period in the West End, adding months’ worth of new shows due to popular demand.
Based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberge and the 2006 film starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, the show follows aspiring journalist Andy as she takes a job at Runway magazine, working under notoriously cutthroat editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. Andy will have to give everything she has to this role to make it work – not easy for a girl who knows nothing about fashion. But working for Miranda takes more than she could possible have bargained for…
The musical features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, a book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. Also on the creative team are set designer Tim Hatley, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Bruno Poet and sound designer Gareth Owen.
The musical had its premier at Theatre Royal Plymouth before transferring to the West End in December 2024. Since opening at the Dominion Theatre, the show has sold over 1.2 million tickets, becoming the fastest-selling production in the theatre’s history. 23 September will mark its 800th performance.
Tickets for the show’s extension period from 8 February to 25 September 2027 are on sale now.
Current cast members Vanessa Williams and Matt Henry have announced their final dates in the show. Williams will complete her run on 19 September, whilst Henry will finish as Nigel on 17 October.
The current West End cast of The Devil Wears Prada includes Stevie Doc (winner of ITV’s Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream) as Andy, with Taila Halford (Shucked, School of Rock) as Emily, Keelan McAuley (Clueless, Heathers) as Nate, and Dominic Andersen (Heathers, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) as Christian.
