The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical announces new cast member for this summer
Dominic Anderson is set to take over the role of Christian
With The Devil Wears Prada 2 set to be the cinema hit of the summer, the musical adaptation in the West End has issued an exciting update. From 1 June, Dominic Anderson will assume the role of Christian in The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at the Dominion Theatre, taking over from current cast member James Darch. Darch will play his final performance on 30 May.
Anderson’s recent credits include the UK tour of I Should Be So Lucky. He also previously appeared in Heathers at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
The cast of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical is currently led by Vanessa Williams as the indominable Miranda Priestly, who is currently set to star until 17 October 2026. Also appearing until that date is Matt Henry as Nigel. The current cast also includes Stevie Doc as Andy, Taila Halford as Emily and Keelan McAuley as Nate.
The ensemble features Gabby Antrobus, Georgia Aspinall, Anta Bah, Selena Barron, Evonnee Bentley-Holder, Pamela Blair, Jenna Bonner, Xenoa Campbell-Ledgister, Lloyd Davies, Jinny Gold, Selina Hamilton, Kimberley Hoyle, Luke Jackson, Emma Johnson, Justin-Lee Jones, Debbie Kurup (as the alternate Miranda), Mark Lamb, Ethan Le Phong, Brandon Lee Sears, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Dean Makowski-Clayton, Shannon Molloy, Eleanor Peach, Joshua Robinson, Joshua Steel, Kayleigh Thadani, Harry Tunningley, Alex Woodward and Tara Yasmin.
The Devil Wears Prada features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, a book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. It’s based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger and the 2006 film starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. The sequel was released this summer. The show follows aspiring journalist Andy Sachs as she accepts a job as assistant to Miranda Priestly, editor at Runway magazine, only to learn that the demands of the job are far more gruelling than she could have imagined.
