Slipknot announce brand new album, The End, So Far

The masked metallers have also released a new single titled ‘The Dying Song (Time To Sing)’

Slipknot have announced that they’re returning with a new record on 30 September. The album, which will be called The End So Far, will include single ‘The Chapeltown Rag’, as well as their new song, ‘The Dying Song (Time To Sing)’.

The album is the band’s first since 2019’s UK and US chart-topping We Are Not Your Kind. It will also be their last with current label Roadrunner Records. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan confirmed last year that the band would be ‘getting off’ the label after The End So Far.

“This is a very fascinating time in my life because I’ve lost both of my parents and if they were alive my dad would be so excited that I have fulfilled a contract,” he said. “It’s not about what I’m going to do afterwards, it’s that I gave my word, I extended my hand and my penmanship and I’m literally getting off of something that I had agreed I can get off of.”

“Yes sir, seven albums, no greatest hits, no best of, no live albums, straight up rock n’ roll,” he added. “That’s what we’ve given.”

“I’m really, really stoked on it,” said frontman Corey Taylor. “I actually like this one more than I like We Are Not Your Kind, and I loved We Are Not Your Kind.”

Meanwhile, over on social media, Crahan has been teasing visuals, writing: “New music, new art, and new beginnings. Get ready for the end.”
