Michaela Strachan and Anna Dimitriadis are Wild Women
Eight leading wildlife presenters and filmmakers will share stories from behind the camera on a 29-date live tour
What does it take to film a tiger at close range, track musk oxen through the Arctic or tag a saltwater crocodile? Wild Women Live has assembled the people who know.
Michaela Strachan and wildlife cinematographer Anna Dimitriadis will lead a new 29-date UK tour in spring 2027, bringing together eight women whose work has taken them from South American rainforests to British back gardens – often with several kilos of camera equipment and an uncooperative animal somewhere nearby.
Running from Bristol’s Redgrave Theatre on 2 April to Theatre by the Lake in Keswick on 14 May, Wild Women Live will dig into the stories behind programmes including Springwatch, Big Cats 24/7, Tiger Island, The One Show and Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature.
Strachan and Dimitriadis appear at every date, joined across the tour by Megan McCubbin, Lizzie Daly, Naomi Wilkinson, Hannah Stitfall, Sarah Roberts and Libby Penman. Between them, the cast’s CV includes diving with escaped sea snakes, filming big cats at close quarters, feeding hippos and getting bitten by a lemon shark. A quiet day at the office this is not.
Dimitriadis recently operated a thermal camera on stage during the Royal Albert Hall celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, adding to screen credits including Big Cats 24/7 and Tiger Island. Strachan, meanwhile, marked four decades on television with her 2026 live show Not Just A Wild Life. She previously joined McCubbin, Daly and Stitfall for 2025’s A Wild Evening, exploring the mishaps, patience and fieldcraft that sit behind wildlife television.
Wild Women Live widens that conversation, bringing filmmakers, zoologists, broadcasters and environmental storytellers together to reveal how remarkable wildlife footage actually reaches our screens – and to put some of the women making it firmly in the picture.
