Fern Brady, Lou Sanders, Harriet Dyer and more unite for Hysterical Women comedy special at Royal Albert Hall

The major new celebration of women in comedy announces its inaugural edition

Hysterical Women at Royal Albert Hall has announced its inaugural edition, set to be a major new celebration of women in comedy. The one-night comedy special will take place on Sunday 7 March 2027 at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, on the eve of International Women’s Day.

Showcasing a lineup of world-class, award-winning comics alongside bright new talent coming through, Hysterical Women will see each act performing a specially-curated set.

Heading to the Royal Albert Hall stage are: Catherine Bohart, Ciara O’Connor, Fern Brady, Harriet Dyer, Janine Harouni, Josie Long, Lou Sanders, Marty Gleeson, Michelle De Swarte and Sindhu Vee.

Hysterical Women at Royal Albert Hall’s creator Bridget Mulroy, Promoter at Live Nation, said: “Hysterical Women at Royal Albert Hall is a celebration of stand-up comedy, with comedians across generations, backgrounds and identities taking over the Hall on the eve of International Women’s Day. We’re reclaiming a word that has been used to dismiss women for a very long time and putting it in lights, while celebrating the incredible talent in the comedy scene right now.”

“The Royal Albert Hall is an iconic venue with a rich history of comedy legends, but its Victoria Wood who holds the record for the most shows in a run by any comedian, a feat she achieved twice with 15 sell-out shows. She proved what a woman with a microphone can do in that venue, and Hysterical Women is a way of carrying that forward.”

Matthew Todd, Director of Programming at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We are delighted to have such a brilliant array of comedians performing here next year for this brand new Hysterical Women event. The Hall has been a platform for innovation, important voices and cultural change throughout its history, so this event will be a fitting moment in our programme to collectively celebrate women through the undeniable power of comedy ahead of International Women’s Day.”
