Megan Hilty and Rachel Tucker to star in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the London Palladium

The Broadway favourite returns for three performances, with Warren Carlyle directing and a 30-piece orchestra in tow

Megan Hilty returns to Lorelei Lee next spring, joining Rachel Tucker for a new concert production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the London Palladium. Hilty plays Lorelei opposite Tucker’s Dorothy Shaw across three performances on 26 and 27 March 2027, with Tony-winning choreographer Warren Carlyle directing and choreographing, and Alan Williams leading a 30-piece orchestra.

Jule Styne, Leo Robin, Anita Loos and Joseph Fields’ 1949 musical sends Lorelei and Dorothy across the Atlantic towards Paris, where romance and money quickly complicate the itinerary. ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ remains its calling card, alongside ‘A Little Girl From Little Rock’. The original Broadway production, led by Carol Channing, ran for 740 performances; Howard Hawks’ 1953 film later paired Marilyn Monroe with Jane Russell in the leads.

Hilty already has history with Lorelei. She played the role in New York City Center’s 2012 Encores! staging, years before her latest Broadway run as Madeline Ashton in Death Becomes Her. That performance earned Hilty a 2025 Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. She returned to London in May 2026 for a solo Theatre Royal Drury Lane concert, making this Palladium booking another quick trip back across the Atlantic.

Tucker arrives in particularly busy form. Our review of The Great Gatsby singled out her Myrtle Wilson, and she is currently starring as Louise opposite Amy Lennox in the Young Vic world premiere of Thelma & Louise. Earlier this year, she joined Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman for the Gravity tour, reuniting three former Elphabas on stage.

Carlyle brings formidable Broadway credentials of his own. The After Midnight choreographer won a Tony in 2014 and returns for his first London production in more than 25 years, following 17 Broadway productions. Rebecca Brower handles set and costume design, with Zoe Spurr on lighting. For a musical built around ocean-liner glamour, sharp comedy and serious dance chops, the Palladium feels like a very good fit indeed.
