There’s a Pirates of the Caribbean immersive experience heading to London – here’s how to get tickets

Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean will be brought to life by Secret Cinema early next year

Secret Cinema is bringing a brand-new immersive experience to London next year, and this is an adventure you won’t want to miss. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure will have its world premiere in the capital, combining selected clips from the hit film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with live theatrical storytelling. Audiences will be able interact with characters, explore the world of the beloved film, and be a part of all the action.

Secret Cinema has also announced the initial cast for the production. George Maguire will play Captain Jack Sparrow, with Phil Daniels as Captain Barbossa, Lily Blunsom as Elizabeth Swann, Harrison Wilde as Will Turner and Gleanne Purcell-Brown as Anamaria. Full casting news will be announced at a later date.

Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure begins previews on 16 February 2027, with an official opening on 10 March. It will premiere at Secret Cinema’s new purpose-built venue at Greenwich Peninsula, set to be the long-term home of the immersive theatre company. The production is currently booking until 6 June 2027.

The show will be directed by Matt Costain, the Olivier Award-winning aerialist who previously helmed Secret Cinema favourites including the award-winning Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical, Stranger Things and Star Wars. Also on the creative team are production designer Jason Sherwood, theatrical adaptor Kait Kerrigan, musical supervisor, arrangements and orchestrator Alan Williams, casting director Stuart Burt, costume designer Susan Kulkarni, wigs, hair and make-up designer Helen Keane for Campbell Young Associates, and fight director Alex Payne.

This will be the first time the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been adapted into a fully immersive theatrical experience. As Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl comes to life, audiences will be treated to live music, thrilling stunts and full-scale sets to explore.

Merritt Baer, artistic director and producer of Secret Cinema, said: “Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean is everything we love about immersive entertainment. It’s bold, mischievous, wildly entertaining and filled with characters and a world you can’t help but want to explore. And with this production, we’re inviting audiences to do exactly that.

“We’ve assembled an extraordinary cast and some of the most accomplished creative talent working in theatre today because bringing a world this beloved to life demands real ambitionand artistry. But for all of the incredible craft behind it, the experience itself is about one thing: having an absolutely fantastic time.

“Expect adventure, surprises, spectacular performances, a little chaos and plenty of opportunities to get swept up in the fun. We’ve taken everything Secret Cinema does best and pushed it further than ever before, creating a new kind of theatrical experience where the story doesn’t just happen in front of you – it happens all around you. This is exactly the kind of show we’ve been building towards and opening it in our new home at Greenwich Peninsula makes it even more exciting.

“And honestly, who hasn’t dreamed of stepping into the world of Captain Jack Sparrow? We can’t wait to welcome audiences aboard.”
