The Guilty with Russell Tovey to transfer to the West End next year
The sell-out thriller will come to the West End stage in early 2027
Chloë Moss’ on-stage thriller The Guilty will transfer to the West End this coming January, with Russell Tovey continuing to star. Premiering at the Donmar Warehouse, the show sold out its initial run. It now prepares to open at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 27 January 2027, with previews beginning 16 January. The show will run until 3 April.
The Guilty follows police officer Joe, played by Tovey, who takes a 999 from a woman named Emily and tries to decipher her whereabouts and circumstances. However, as the call continues, Joe begins to question what he hears.
The show is written by Chloë Moss, based on the film Den Skyldige, written by Gustav Möller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen. The show features set design by Alex Eales, lighting design by Anna Watson, sound design by Gareth Fry, video design by Luke Halls, associate direction from Elin Schofield and casting by Lotte Hines. Chris Hay is production manager, and Jessy Roberts is assistant director.
“I’ve never quite had an experience like The Guilty,” said Tovey. “Every single performance at the Donmar vibrated with an energy I’ve never felt on stage – audience and performer connected and intertwined. I cannot wait to perform it in The Pinter.”
