Into The Woods releases first wave of casting news ahead of West End transfer

The first wave of cast members have been announced as the acclaimed Bridge Theatre production transfers to the Noël Coward Theatre

The first cast members have been announced for the West End transfer of Into The Woods. The acclaimed Bridge Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim’s beloved fairytale musical, helmed by director James Lapine, opens at the Noël Coward Theatre on 7 October 2026, with previews beginning on 22 September.

Following a popular and critically acclaimed run at the Bridge Theatre, Into The Woods returns to the West End for the first time in over three decades. The Noël Coward Theatre transfer also marks a milestone for the Bridge Theatre, marking the first West End transfer for any of their productions.

As previously announced, cast member Kate Fleetwood will lead the company as The Witch, following her celebrated run at the Bridge Theatre. She will be joined at the Noël Coward Theatre by Valda Aviks as Grandmother and Giant, Geoffrey Aymer as Cinderella’s Father, Jo Foster as Jack, Jennifer Hepburn as Cinderella’s Stepmother and alternate Witch, Hana Ichijo as Lucinda, Julie Jupp as Jack’s Mother, Gabrielle Lewis-Dodson as Florinda and Gracie McGonigal as Little Red Ridinghood. Jacob Fowler and Sophie Linder-Lee also join the West End cast as standbys. Further casting is yet to be announced.

Directed by Jordan Fein, and produced by Jamie Wilson Productions, Kevin McCollum and New Ventures Entertainment, Into The Woods opened at the Bridge Theatre in 2025, going on to win Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting Design at the Olivier Awards, and Best Ensemble or Cast and Best Designer at the Critics’ Circle Awards.

First premiered on Broadway in 1987, Sondheim’s Into The Woods takes inspiration from the classic European fairytales of Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault, weaving together the stories of familiar characters including Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, Rapunzel and many more. The show features some of Sondheim’s most beloved songs, including ‘No One Is Alone’, ‘Your Fault’ and ‘Agony’.
