Five West End shows to see if you liked Mamma Mia!
Here’s what you should see next in the West End after seeing Mamma Mia!
There’s hardly a sunnier time to be had in London than at the Novello Theatre, where Donna, Sophie and three potential fathers sing and dance their way through a trove of Swedish pop gems. If you’re looking for your next feel-good night out in the West End, there’s plenty more to discover in the way of pop-influenced scores, from shows based on your favourite romcoms to a second dose of ABBA. Here’s what to see in London if you loved Mamma Mia!
Six The Musical

Just a tad more vintage than the ABBA era, Six The Musical draws its inspiration from the six wives of Henry VIII. This is a show much more concerned with a good time than historical accuracy, however – at the Vaudeville Theatre, you’ll watch six queens come together to form the ultimate girl group, with original songs inspired by the biggest pop stars of the 2010s. It doesn’t get more upbeat than this.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical

Glamorous and romantic, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is an example of the jukebox musical at its best. Get ready to hear compelling new arrangements of familiar songs – many that you’ll recognise from Baz Lurhmann’s classic film, and many hits added specifically for the stage production. Catch it at the Piccadilly Theatre.
The Devil Wears Prada

Adapted from another one of the most popular films of the 21st century, The Devil Wears Prada has already made quite a splash in London thanks to a script as witty as the film its based on and an earworm pop score by Elton John. If you’re looking for something stylish, sparkly and endlessly entertaining, look no further than the Dominion Theatre. You can read our review here.
Dirty Dancing

Another iconic romantic comedy musical, packed full of songs you’ll recognise. Baby’s story returns to the London stage in a new way this autumn, at the brand-new purpose-built Capital Theatre, a venue designed to invite you deeper into the story. Make sure to secure your seat before it arrives this October.
Mamma Mia! The Party

Of course, if you loved Mamma Mia! there’s no surer good time than a night at Mamma Mia! The Party at the O2. The immersive production offers you the chance to be part of the action and spend the night eating, drinking and dancing at a Greek taverna, whilst live performers weave a story around you. Most importantly, just like Mamma Mia!, it’s packed full of your favourite ABBA hits. Find out what you can expect here.
