Evita is coming to the West End for a strictly limited season from the end of July. Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s captivating musical follows the take of an ordinary woman’s meteoric rise to power at a time of extraordinary political unrest.

It follows Eva Peron’s, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, journey from humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status, which ultimately lead her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ by the Argentine people.

Emma Hatton, one of musical theatre’s most exciting young leading ladies, will take on the role. Previous theatre credits include Elphaba in Wicked, as well as playing Eva on the production’s UK tour.

She will be joined by Italian performer Gian Marco Schiaretti as Che in his West End debut.

Since its creation, Evita has celebrated more than 20 major awards, including an Academy Award for the film version startting Madonna and Antonio Banderas.
