All the shows arriving in the West End this March, plus the most exciting new tickets now on sale
The change of seasons brings plenty of change in the West End. As spring arrives, so do lots of exciting new shows this month – with lots of big names in their principle roles. Sadie Sink, Rosamund Pike and Alexandra Burke are just a few of the famous faces taking to London’s stages this month, and everything from a Shakespearean tragedy to a brand-new jukebox musical is getting the star treatment. Plus, some of the city’s favourite shows are set to return to our theatres. Read on for our roundup of everything new in the West End this March.
I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical

Opening 5 Mar at the Peacock Theatre
The life story of the multi-platinum artist comes to the Peacock Theatre this month, packed full of her Grammy-winning hits. I’m Every Woman will star recording artist and X-Factor alum Alexandra Burke as Chaka Khan, in the musical’s world premiere. Expect many of Khan’s famous friends and influences to pop up in her story as well, from Joni Mitchell to Stevie Wonder to Prince.
Teeth ‘n’ Smiles

Opening 13 Mar at the Duke of York’s Theatre
David Hare’s rebel play made waves when it debuted in the 70s. Fifty years later, Teeth ‘n’ Smiles returns to London, with Rebecca Lucy Taylor (AKA Self Esteem) as Maggie Frisby. Once the face of 60s counterculture, now on a booze and rage-fuelled rampage through London, Maggie still has a voice – and she’s going to use it. The 50th anniversary production features original music and the same anarchist spirit that set the Royal Court alight all those years ago.
A Mirrored Monet

Opening 14 Mar at Charing Cross Theatre
Charing Cross Theatre brings a brand new musical to stage, exploring the life and process of Claude Monet. In Paris 1916, the painter struggles to complete a commission: The Water Lilies. It’s a work on which a lot depends – food, safety, comfort, with supplies dwindling and World War One raging on. Little does he know that it’ll also be the piece that comes to define his legacy… Inspired by letter and diaries from Monet and his peers, this transportive new piece uses original music and an immersive design to bring the painter’s world vividly to life.
Kinky Boots

Opening 17 Mar at the London Coliseum
Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe and multi-platinum-selling recording artist Matt Cardle star in this joyous revival. Kinky Boots struts back into London this month, to tell the story of the failing shoe factory that finds an unexpected client base. Winner of the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, featuring Tony and Grammy-winning lyrics from Cyndi Lauper and based on a true story, this heartwarming show has all the right ingredients.
Romeo & Juliet

Opening 18 Mar at the Harold Pinter Theatre
Robert Icke (Oedipus) directs Shakespeare’s enduring tale of love, innocence and tragedy, starring Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe in their West End debuts as the star-crossed lovers. This high-profile version of one of the Bard’s best beloved stories will play a strictly limited season at the intimate Harold Pinter Theatre – make sure to secure your ticket whilst you can.
Inter Alia

Opening 19 Mar at Wyndham’s Theatre
The National Theatre’s hit legal drama arrives in the West End this March, starring Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner and BAFTA and Academy Award-nominee Rosamund Pike. For maverick London Crown Court Judge Jessica Parks, all the many moving parts of her life are carefully balanced – so when an unthinkable event shakes it all, can she hold her family together? With fantastic reviews from critics and audiences, this is definitely not one to miss.
Avenue Q

Opening 20 Mar at Shaftesbury Theatre
The irreverently charming, Tony-winning musical is back in London after two decades. Welcome to Avenue Q, where a colourful mix of New Yorkers, live, love and struggle through life’s messier moments. With an infectious soundtrack and a larger than life cast of (felt) characters, this UK revival is brought to stage by original Broadway director Jason Moore and original puppet designer Rick Lyon.
