Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies will come to the London Palladium in concert this October
Love Never Dies returns to the West End with Jamie Muscato and Celinde Schoenmaker
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s epic sequel to The Phantom of the Opera returns to London this autumn, with the award-winning concert production of Love Never Dies landing at the London Palladium. Playing just three performances across two dates on 16 and 17 October, the concert is directed by Shaun Kerrison and forms part of the fortieth anniversary celebrations of The Phantom of the Opera.
The production will star Jamie Muscato as the Phantom, with Celinde Schoenmaker returning as Christine. Muscato’s theatre credits include Dexter in One Day, Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby, Anatole in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, Christian in Moulin Rouge, Guy in Once and JD in Heathers. Schoenmaker’s credits include originating the role of Sarah Brown in Nick Hytner’s Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre, Fantine in Les Misérables, and Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera.
Love Never Dies picks up ten years after the Phantom’s disappearance from the Paris Opera House. Now living in New York and filling his life with music, he still yearns for Christine Daae, her otherworldly talent, and the love she inspired. Luring her, her husband and her young son to America to perform one final time, he intends to prove that true love never really fades.
This year, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of The Phantom Of The Opera celebrates its fortieth year at His Majesty’s Theatre, cementing its place as one of London’s most beloved musicals of all time. Beyond the West End, The Phantom Of The Opera has played to over 160 million people in 217 cities, and has been performed in 23 languages.
