Things to do near Magic Mike Live
The Hippodrome Casino is right in the heart of London’s theatre district, with lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Chinatown is a four-minute walk from the casino, with over 70 East and Southeast Asian business to discover including unique restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. Six minutes away, you’ll find yourself in the bustling centre of Piccadilly Circus, an iconic London location with lots of sightseeing to do in the area.
The National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery are both about five minutes from the casino, housing an enormous collection of art between them spanning centuries. Both are a great way to spend an afternoon, especially if the weather isn’t on your side. If you’re in a giggly mood before or after the show – and we suspect you might be – just three minutes away you’ll find the 99 Club Leicester Square, one of London’s premiere comedy destinations. Securing the Best London Comedy Club ten years running at the Chortle Awards, they host stand-up shows six nights a week, platforming new talent alongside the very best in comedy.
And of course, there’s lots to see inside the Hippodrome Casino itself. The UK’s largest casino venue boasts seven floors, nine bars and three casinos, with a lively atmosphere to soak up and a diverse collection of attractions, including London’s largest dedicated poker floor.

There are lots of popular chain restaurants within a short walk from the casino, and Chinatown is always a great place to find food, with a huge number of options to choose from.
You’ll find plenty of fantastic eateries in the casino itself, including Heliot Steak House. They of course know how to serve up the perfect seared steak, but they also have great options for vegan diners as well as plenty of indulgent options in-between. Their set pre-theatre menu makes great pre-show dining affordable, and even includes a complimentary glass of prosecco. Also inside the theatre is Chop Chop, an award-winning Chinese restaurant serving premium dim sum and Asian-inspired cocktails. They’re famous for their roast duck, but they also serve a variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes.
Three minutes from the casino is OITA Soho, an atypical but still authentic Japanese restaurant that specialises in their signature chicken karaage – a dish far beyond the traditional high street fried chicken that foodies will love. Their diverse menu also includes great cocktail pairings. For a high-quality meal in a fast-paced, casual setting, head to Bone Daddies, eight minutes from the casino. This rock ‘n’ roll ramen bar prides itself on serving the perfect noodle, along with Korean wings, bao buns, ribs, yuzu margaritas, and plenty more.
Brother Marcus in Covent Garden is another great compromise between quality food and casual, friendly dining. This all-day East Mediterranean eatery focuses on full flavours and warm hospitality, with a fantastic sharing menu. For vegans, Mildred’s in Covent Garden operates with the ethos of serving plant-based food that is never bland or boring. Their globally-inspired vegan menu will satisfy diners of all tastes, and they even have a dedicated pre-theatre menu.

Just ten minutes’ walk from the Hippodrome Casino, you’ll find yourself in the heart of Soho, where there’s no end to what you might discover, from high-street brands to quirky boutiques and lots more. Oxford Street is twenty minutes from the casino on foot, and operates as one of London’s premium shopping destinations, packed with all your high-street favourites. Covent Garden is always worth a visit, whether you’re shopping in the designer stores and top beauty outlets or just exploring the bustling market. You’ll find the iconic piazza just five minutes from the Hippodrome Casino.
Six minutes away is Neal’s Yard, the brightly coloured curated shopping square full of gorgeous cafes, restaurants and wellness brands. Carnaby Street, another top London shopping destination, is fifteen minutes away, home to a mix of global and British brands – everything from flagship stores to independent boutiques and great eateries.

You’ll find no shortage of great places for a drink in and around The Hippodrome Casino. Below the casino is Archive & Myth, a secret, password-protected underground bar serving elevated classic cocktails and vintage spirits, with an elegant design that pays tribute to the venue’s glamorous history. All the way at the top of the casino is The Gods Rooftop Bar, spread across three floors, each with a distinct identity. On the third, you’ll find lush greenery and an open-air space in which to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails. And you can never go wrong visiting Permission Lounge, an award-winning lounge curated by Magic Mike Live, situated right beside the theatre. With curated cocktails, delicious sharing plates and quality food, this is a great place to enjoy yourself before or after the show. If you book pre-show, you’ll be able to skip the line into the theatre, and when enjoying a post-show drink you might even rub shoulders with a cast member or two…
If a pint is more your vibe, a minute from the casino you’ll find The Bear And Staff, a historic pub that’s occupied the site since 1714 and was once a favourite haunt of Charlie Chaplin. They’re known for their eclectic ale collection and great pub food. For wine lovers, Cork & Bottle Wine Bar over the road from the theatre is a must-visit. Their 300-label wine list includes wines you’re unlikely to find elsewhere in London, which you can enjoy along with small plates in their cosy underground bar.
And if you’re more interested in where you can head for a big night out after the show, Zoo Bar is a notorious spot where you can dance to disco tunes until 3am in their retro setting. You’ll find it just down the street from the Hippodrome Casino.
Tube stations and bus stops near Magic Mike Live
The closest tube station to the Hippodrome Casino is Leicester Square, on the Northern and Piccadilly lines, just over the road. Five minutes away is Covent Garden, which is also on the Piccadilly line. Tottenham Court Road, served by the Northern, Central and Elizabeth lines, is eight minutes away, as is Picadilly Circus, whichcarries the Picadilly and Bakerloo lines.
For those travelling by train, Charing Cross is the closest national rail station, just eight minutes from the casino. Multiple bus routes also drop off and pick up near the venue. It’s best to plan your route with TFL.
