Art of the Brick: DC Super Heroes
There’s really not much like it out there. The Art Of The Brick: CD Super Heroes exhibition sees over 120 pieces of art created using more than two million LEGO bricks. Built by artist Sawaya, there’s nods to Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, alongside DC Super-Villains the Joker, Harley Quinn and more. The exhibition opens at London’s South Bank on 1 March 2017. Bear Grylls Kids Survival Race & Outdoor Festival
It’s all about fitness and a love for the outdoors at the Bear Grylls Kids Survival Race and Outdoor Festival. Children aged 4 – 13 will take part in the exiting obstacle court, built specifically to challenge the youngsters. The Outdoor Festival then throws in some added interactive animal displays, survival workshops, live music and other main stage performances, delicious food stalls and even licensed bars. Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House
Hosted at the beautiful Somerset House, the Summer Screen event sees cult, classic and contemporary films being shows over a two week period in August. There’s even time for new premieres in the stunning open air cinema. There’s wider entertainment too, to add to the ideal friend and family gathering.
The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival
Hosted at Funkirk Farm, the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival welcomes celebrity Chef’s James Martin and John Torode, in among loads of family friendly activities. There’s a vintage funfair, live music, bars, a spirit and cocktail theatre, kid’s craft area, a Beers & Bangers tent and an Artisan Cookery School. Disney On Ice: 100 Years Of Magic
After it finishes its Frozen run, Disney On Ice returns in March for 100 Years Of Magic. Celebrating a century of Disney, spectators can expect visits from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, as well as their favourite Disney Princesses, and obviously some massive singalongs. You’ll be repeating Let It Go in your head for days. [Tickets]
National Television Awards 2017
Television’s Biggest Night Of The Year arrives at London’s The O2 on the 25 January 2017, hosted by Dermon O’Leary. It’s the seventh year the event has been hosted at the capital’s venue, all of which have seen O’Leary at the helm. The star-studded event also opens its doors to ticket-holders as well as a heap of celebrities. [Tickets]
Chateau Impney Hill Climb
The highlight in the Midlands’ motorsport calendar, the Chateau Impney Hill Climb has become a staple for the wide range of competitors. It’s particularly noted for its stunning location, and the complexity and challenge of the course itself. The Hill Climb returned to the Chateau in 2015, and has moved from strength to strength since. It returns in July for its 2017 outing. [Tickets]
Chestertons Polo in the Park
Hosted at the Hurlingham Park in Fulham, Polo In The Park sees teams from six different cities from around world compete over three days. Notable for altering the rules a little to quicken the pace, the event offers polo as you’ve never seen it before. The vast gardens also include bars and grandstands to enjoy the action from. It takes place on the 9 – 11 June 2017.
Geronimo Festival
Moving to Arley Hall in Cheshire, Geronimo Festival hosts over 130 activities for children of all ages. Examples include performances by kids’ TV stars, jousting competitions and willow weaving. For the first time ever, families can also camp and enjoy the events and activities across all three days. Geronimo Festival runs from the 27 – 29 May 2017. [Tickets]
The Emmerdale Studio Experience
A must see for all soap addicts, the Emmerdale Studio Experience sees full scale reconstructions of the TV series’ most recognisable sets. An 80 minute guided tour takes visitors through the former ITV studios in Leeds, popping in to Smithy cottage, Beauty and Bernice, The Dingles and The Woolpack. [Tickets]
