Everything you need to know about London 2017 tickets

Ticket details for London 2017 have just been unveiled, with 1.5 million tickets going on sale for the Summer of World Athletics.

The world’s top athletes will return to London next summer for the IAAF World Championships and World ParaAthletics Championships which will take place in the former Olympic Stadium within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.


How many tickets are available

1.5 million tickets will go on sale on 1 August for the Summer of World Athletics – 800,000 for the World ParaAthletics Championships (from 14 – 23 July 2017) and 700,000 for the IAAF World Championships from (4 – 13 August 2017).

When do tickets go on sale

Public sales will be held via ballot, with applications opening at 10:00 on 1 August and closing at 20:17 on 22 August 2016. Prior to this there will be a priority sale window for pre-registered members of the athletics family in May and June 2016.

After the ticket ballot closes, people will receive communications regarding which tickets they have been allocated at the end of August 2016. Any unsold tickets will be brought back onto general sale in September 2016.

How much will tickets cost

Ticket prices start from £20 for IAAF World Championships and £10 for World ParaAthletics Championships. Child tickets for all sessions cost under £10 across both Championships.

For the first time ever, there will be athlete-themed World Record ticket prices to reflect World Records set by athletes at previous IAAF World Championships. Tickets for one session at one price point will be available for: £12.91 (Colin Jackson’s 110m hurdles), £18.29 (Jonathan Edwards’ triple jump) and £52.74 (Sally Gunnell’s 400m hurdles). All children’s tickets will be priced at £9.58 (Usain Bolt’s 100m).

I hope it will inspire many of them to get into athletics and look forward to seeing many young people filling seats next summer.”
