The UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup is coming to Glasgow in 2026
Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park is set to welcome the world's best riders on Sunday 13 December
Helmets at the ready, grease those chains, spruce up your sprockets and get ready to clip into those cleats: the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup is coming to Glasgow in 2026.
No doubt the highest octane of all two-wheeled competitions, Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park is set to welcome the world’s best riders who will take on the gauntlet of mud and obstacles, watched upon by thousands of spectators.
Set to unfold on Sunday 13 December, the fast and furious event will be delivered by British Cycling Ventures in partnership with Glasgow Life and EventScotland. It marks a major milestone in bringing the global event to Glasgow – the UK’s first UCI Bike City – that will impact and inspire a new generation of riders.
Managing Director of British Cycling Ventures, Darren Henry, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup to Glasgow later this year. This is a significant moment in the delivery of our major events vision. It joins a wide-ranging portfolio of major events hosted and delivered by British Cycling, including the largest free to spectate sporting events in the country – the Lloyds Tour of Britain. Bringing world-class international racing to Great Britain inspires future generations and delivers real impact for local communities. Whether a family, a lifelong cycling fan or new to the sport entirely, this is an event not to be missed.”
In recent years, cyclo-cross has enticed various multi-discipline international stars including the likes of mountain bike Olympic Champion Tom Pidcock. Zoe Backstedt and Scotland’s Cameron Mason are among the leading Britons, both winning UCI world medals, and are likely to return when December rolls around.
