Tyla announces UK tour dates for this autumn – here’s how to get tickets
The South African queen of popiano is touring across the country later this year
Tyla is coming to the UK this autumn, with three huge shows announced for October. The South African singer-songwriter, dubbed the ‘queen of popiano’ by fans, will bring The A*Pop World Tour to three cities in the UK. She’ll play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday 15 October, before travelling to Scotland for a show at the O2 Academy Glasgow on Sunday 18 October, and playing her final UK date at the O2 Apollo Manchester on Monday 19 October.
This UK run comes as part of a larger European tour, which will see Tyla play shows in Paris, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin and Oslo.
The A*Pop World Tour celebrates Tyla’s second studio album, A*Pop, featuring internationally charting single ‘Chanel’ and Zara Larsson collaboration ‘She Did It Again’. Third single ‘Is It Love’ topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart for the fourth time in her career, extending Tyla’s record as the artist with the most No.1s on the chart.
The album was released on 26 July and received praise from critics for its purposeful writing and impressive balance of genres including African pop, R&B, ampiano, dance and electropop. Speaking to Ebony about the album, Tyla said: “Coming from where I come from, I am literally cutting down these bushes as I go. I’m creating it as I go. A*Pop is so important to me because there are just so many layers to pop. It’s so broad.”
A day before the album’s release on 25 July, Tyla headlined the WNBA All-Star Game Halftime Show, performing songs from A*Pop and her self-titled first album.
