Taylor Swift is Decade Honouree at Nashville Songwriter Awards 2022

It was a big night for the singer as she also revealed the first track from her upcoming album, Midnights

Swift added another prestigious award to her long list at this year’s Nashville Songwriters Association International awards ceremony last night, where she was named songwriter-artist of the decade. She has previously been named songwriter-artist of the year seven times by the awards body.

Also receiving the prestigious award was songwriter Ashley Gore, who has been named songwriter of the year five times.

Swift’s night didn’t end there, however. Over on her Tik Tok, she released a special message at midnight, her preferred hour of communication in the lead up to her new record, Midnights.

“I know I have a habit of dropping cryptic clues and easter eggs when giving you information about new music, and I’m not here to deny that, but I am here to defy that,” she told the camera, seated in a blazer beside a lottery ball cage. “Welcome to a new series I’m calling ‘Midnights Mayhem With Me.’ I am going to be using this technologically advanced device to help me allow fate to decide exactly what track titles I’m going to be announcing and in what order.”

She then drew ball thirteen from the cage and announced into a red phone that the final track on the album would be entitled ‘Mastermind’.

Midnights will be available everywhere on October 21.
