Ozzfest announces 2027 comeback at Milton Keynes National Bowl
Sharon Osbourne brings Ozzfest back to the National Bowl for its first edition since Ozzy's final farewell
Ozzfest is making its long-awaited return to the UK, with Sharon Osbourne bringing the heavy metal festival back to Milton Keynes National Bowl on Saturday 10 July 2027. The announcement marks 30 years since Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne first launched Ozzfest, with next summer’s event set to celebrate the extraordinary musical legacy of the late Prince Of Darkness.
The festival originally launched in America in 1996, before making its UK debut at Milton Keynes in 1998. That first British edition brought together Black Sabbath, Pantera, Slayer, Foo Fighters and Soulfly, establishing the National Bowl as a fitting home for one of metal’s biggest gatherings.
Ozzfest returned to the venue in 2001, when Black Sabbath shared the bill with Slipknot, Tool, Papa Roach and Disturbed.
The 2027 edition will carry particular significance following Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance with Black Sabbath at Birmingham’s Villa Park in July 2025. The historic Back To The Beginning concert reunited the band’s four original members for one last show, alongside a remarkable collection of metal’s biggest names.
“Ozzfest will always remain an important part of Ozzy’s legacy,” said Sharon Osbourne, who will personally curate the 2027 line-up.
The festival was originally planned for Villa Park, but ongoing construction at the Birmingham stadium has prompted the move to Milton Keynes. For a festival with such deep roots at the National Bowl, the change brings Ozzfest back to familiar territory.
Download Festival boss Andy Copping, who worked alongside Sharon on Back To The Beginning, will also help bring Ozzfest back to the UK. “We’re so excited about the line-up we’re putting together, and can’t wait to share it with the fans,” he said.

The festival’s return also extends across the Atlantic, with further Ozzfest events confirmed for San Bernardino, California, on 11 September and Mexico City on 18 September 2027.
Thirty years after that first gathering, Ozzy’s heavy metal family is getting back together.
