Miss Saigon returns to the West End in 2027

Multi-award-winning musical Miss Saigon will be back in London next year

Miss Saigon will make a return to the West End next year, with a strictly limited run at the Prince Edward Theatre. This announcement from Cameron Mackintosh in association with Michael Harrison marks the first time in more than a decade that the musical will play in the capital, returning to the very same theatre.

Miss Saigon will play at the Prince Edward Theatre from 13 May 2027 to 8 January 2028. Casting is yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, the production continues a sell-out UK and Ireland tour.

Of the new production, Mackintosh said: “The show, through its extraordinary score, retains its epic scale and emotional power. But now – 50 years on from when our war-torn love story was set, during the Fall of Saigon – the plight and struggles of its innocent characters fighting for survival are more poignant and moving than ever in a world still beset by many conflicts.”

Miss Saigon has won 75 major awards internationally, and has been performed in 33 countries and 15 different languages. It follows 17-year-old Kim in the last days of the Vietnam War, forced to work in a Saigon bar run by the infamous Engineer. She meets and falls in love with an American GI named Chris, but when the fall of Saigon tears them apart, Kim must spend the next three years on a quest for survival, attempting to return to Chris and introduce him to his son.
