BST Hyde Park 2025: Neil Young to headline with more music legends in support
The 'Godfather of Grunge' is returning to Hyde Park with Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Van Morrison in support
neil young and the chrome hearts have been revealed as the latest headliner for BST Hyde Park this coming summer. Led by the imitable ‘Godfather of Grunge’, the band are set to top the bill on Friday 11 July.
Already announced as the first headliner of Glastonbury Festival in 2025 – after an initial hiccup which saw the ‘Heart Of Gold’ legend leak his forthcoming appearance – Young recently unveiled a slew of dates across the UK and Europe throughout the summer months.
The announcement marks his third appearance at BST Hyde Park since the festival’s inception in 2013, having made his headline debut in 2014 and then co-headlining with Bob Dylan in 2019. This time around Neil is the sole headliner of the London concert series, but will be joined by esteemed guests in Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Van Morrison, with more names yet to be revealed.
Earlier this month, Neil Young announced he has finished recording a new album with the chrome hearts – releasing first single ‘Big Change’ in January – writing on his website, Neil Young Archives: “It is a happy feeling I have today, knowing I have made an album I think people will enjoy. I hope it’s out in April. That would be pretty fast. Playing with the Chrome Hearts was a joy as we recorded song after song at Shangrila in Malibu. I wrote these songs in November and December. They feel fresh to me and I am very happy to have this all ready for you. It won’t be long now and it will be great to have new songs to play on the road this summer in Europe, the USA and Canada. We are looking forward to that!”
Thankfully for those among us that missed out on Glastonbury tickets this year, there’s another opportunity to see a bonafide music great on our shores once more.
