BLACKPINK are the first K-pop girl group to land a No.1 UK album

The group have soared to the top of the charts in the UK with BORN PINK

BLACKPINK have made history. The K-pop girl group have been considered one of the biggest in the world for some time, and now here is definitive proof of their impact in the UK. The group’s newest record, BORN PINK, has hit the top of the album charts, making them the first K-pop girl group with a No.1 UK album.

Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé came close to the top spot back in 2020, when The Album came in at No.2 on the charts. On their recent triumph, Chief Executive of the Official Charts Company Martin Talbot says:

“Congratulations to BLACKPINK. Being any kind of chart first is a record which can never be taken away, so for their new album BORN PINK to become the first UK Official Number 1 by a K-pop girl group is a fantastic achievement – and puts them in the record books forever!”
