Wireless 10: the full festival review from Finsbury Park

Here’s what happened when we headed down to Finsbury Park for Wireless 10…

Drake Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

1. Drake did good. Real good.
The Canadian rapper finally made it to Finsbury Park with a headline set at Wireless 10, and he didn’t disappoint. Factor in almost-promises of bringing his OVO fest to London in the not-too-distant future, Drake had the capital’s crowd hanging on his every word. We’re ready to do it all again this Friday.

2. Rita Ora brought her dancing shoes
The new X Factor judge wasn’t short of backing dancers on the main stage, which resulted in one of the most impressive stage set-ups of the day. We’re still dancing…

Boy Better Know Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

3. BBK did London proud
Easily one of the best sets of the day, Boy Better Know swapped their early main stage stint for an evening soirée on the Pepsi Max stage. There was a tree in our way and we still loved it.

Public Enemy Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

4. Public Enemy made it look easy
Loyal fans flocked to the Pepsi Max stage to catch the iconic hip hop group in action. Tracks like Fight The Power and Bring The Noise still set the bar. Amazing.

Chance The Rapper Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

5. Chance The Rapper in full entertainer move
There’s something so smooth and effortless about the way this Chicago rapper commands the stage. His Wireless 10 set was no exception, complete with a cover of the Arthur theme tune (oh yes, really).

Katy B Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

6. Katy B brightened up the stage
Well someone has a healthy stack of hits under her hat… Not that we ever doubted her, but it took Katy B approximately two minutes to make her mark on Wireless 10 and the sun didn’t shop shining throughout the entire set.

Kid Ink Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

7. Kid Ink makes a casual appearance
His elaborate headgear is one thing but fashion choices aside, Kid Ink was nothing but casual as he took to the main stage (even when spinning around on a segway…).

G-Eazy Wireless 10 Ticketmaster Tim Easton

8. G-Eazy entertains early doors
It may still be raining during G-Eazy’s afternoon set but the California rapper doesn’t let that hold up the set. By the end, the sun’s out and everyone’s dancing, so we’re calling it a win.
