Glasgow’s Summer Nights 2020 line-up revealed
The city will host 13 shows at Kelvingrove Park.
The line-up has been revealed for Regular Music’s Summer Nights At The Bandstand, coming to Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park in July and August 2020.
Now in its seventh year, the festival will welcome heavy-hitters from across the world of indie and pop, including headline appearances by Primal Scream, KT Tunstall, Richard Hawley and The Jesus & Mary Chain.
The event has become a firm favourite of Glasgow’s music calendar, and in 2017 won the Unesco City Of Music Best Live Event award at the Scottish Music Awards.
The opening weekend will see headline sets from the legendary US singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega on Thursday 30 July, Los Angeles musician Belinda Carlise on Friday 31 July and from baroque-pop-maker Rufus Wainwright on Saturday 1 August 2020.
Fans will be able to spend an evening listening to the sounds of Van Morrison on Tuesday 4 August and Yusuf, aka Cat Stevens, on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall takes on headline duties on Thursday 6 August, quickly followed by Never Gonna Give You Up hitmaker Rick Astley on Friday 7 August and Sheffield indie hero Richard Hawley on Saturday 8 August 2020.
Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 August will see a special two night stint from Glasgow’s own Primal Scream.
The theme of the local heroes returning will continue for the festival’s final weekend, as King Creosote bring From Scotland With Love to the event on Thursday 13 August, anthemic indie makers The Jesus & Mary Chain headline on Friday 14 August, and closing proceedings on the Saturday 15 August will be Edinburgh musician Edwyn Collins with Altered Images.
