The Warehouse Project: the complete line-up deep dive

Your guide to the names playing Warehouse Project. Manchester’s biggest dance music festival, going down from September through to December.

Deep tunes and dark warehouses are like the bread and butter of electronica. Combating those winter blues, it’s when the nights start to get colder that the dance floors really heat up. The upcoming season of WHP (Warehouse Project) is fast approaching, and with over 20+ club nights, each packed with a diverse and exciting line-up, it’s an overwhelming choice to select which event(s) will see you joining Manchester’s big dance.

The Warehouse Project brings everything from old-school legends and established talent to recent risers in house, techno, garage, breakbeat and drum and bass. To help you pick your vibe, here’s a snapshot of what and who you can expect to see across the WHP 2024 instalment.

The Headliners

Disclosure

Disclosure, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project Friday 25 October

UK brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence were playing international festivals before they were of legal age to attend them. Their debut album ‘Settle’ saw them gaining their first Grammy nod in 2014 – And they’ve had seven more nods since.
Producing dance bangers in a pop format, Disclosure scored back-to-back UK #1 albums and became one of the first electronic acts to truly crossover into the world of pop.
In a way that few acts can claim, a decade later, Disclosure remain as relevant and fresh as they were back when they started – evident with their latest high-energy hit ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’.

Dom Dolla

Gorgon City & Dom Dolla, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 8 November

Combining naughty basslines with his cheeky Aussie charm, Dom Dolla’s seen a stratospheric rise in recent years. Warped vocals and playful lyrics round out his deep and dirty production. And with the Australian’s catalogue hitting over a billion streams and counting, Dom Dolla’s distinct flavour of tech house has well and truly found it’s audience. Renowned for stonking live sets, we’ve all been ‘Saving Up’ for Dom Dolla.

With a sophisticated and oft-eerie production style, hypnotic snares, poignant lyrical hooks, and a knack for both building and releasing tension, dancing to Gorgon City can feel like entering the group therapy session you didn’t even realise you needed. Hailing from North London, the deep house duo delivers an emotional depth that’s can take you from a casual groove to an epiphany on the dancefloor. Sprinkling elements of techno, trance, and garage into their tunes, Gorgon City is one of the most robust and revered electronic acts in the UK.

Overmono

Overmono, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 12 October

Welsh electronic music duo and brothers Tom and Ed Russell come from a background of drum and bass and techno. Since starting their Overmono project the pair have found a new home with breaks and garage, but those deeper, darker influences remain in the soul of their music. Releasing their debut album ‘Good Lies’ and playing Coachella in 2023, Overmono have quickly moved from underground heroes to festival headliners, and the cultural noise around them is in resounding agreement: this is just the beginning.

Peggy Gou

Boiler Room Manchester, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 5 October

There’s been a buzz around the South Korean-born, Berlin-based DJ, singer, songwriter and producer for years. Unbound by bpm, Peggy Gou’s always been undeniably cool. This reached a viral fever pitch in 2023 when a UGC clip of Gou playing her then-unreleased house hit ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ against a gorgeous Moroccan sunset was shared on TikTok. The fan clip accumulated millions of views, catapulting Gou into mainstream success and introducing her to a whole new legion of fans.

Sonny Fodera

Sonny Fodera, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 20 – Saturday 21 September

There’s something groovy cooking Down Under because if there’s one thing I know about Australians, it’s that they’re producing some of the best house music in the world. Over the last few years, the Adelaide-born Sonny Fodera has been making waves in the electronic scene with his groove-driven blend of tech and melodic house.
His 2023 single ‘Asking’ was a slow burn hit that moved up the UK charts, becoming Sonny’s first Top 10 hit, it went on to stay in the Top 100 for a massive 47 weeks. This saw Sonny becoming a globally recognised artist, selling out Warehouse Project so fast, announcing a second date was inevitable.

The Pioneers

Andy C

Worried About Henry 10th Birthday, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 23 October

With a career going back to the early 90s, Andy C is undoubtedly one of the most influential names in drum and bass. He was the DJ responsible for popularising ‘double drops’—something that’s become so intrinsic to the genre, it’s hard to imagine drum and bass without it.
He also heads up his own label RAM Records (established 1992). With artists like Red One and Sub Focus on the books, Andy C continues to develop the future of drum and bass with the incredible artists he’s bringing up.

Armand Van Helden

The Haçienda, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 7 December

More than sixty hit singles spanning across a 30-year career, Boston-born Armand Van Helden is one of the most prolific talents in house music.
Interestingly, Van Helden saw his biggest charting success here in the UK. This is thanks to his early experimentation with UK garage and the monster #1 single ‘Bonkers’ with Dizzee Rascal.
Armand Van Helden’s influence goes far and wide. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a house DJ who doesn’t have a few Armand Van Helden classics loaded on to their USB.
Rewinding back to 1999, ‘You don’t know me’ is one of many fan-favourites bound to feature in Armand Van Helden’s Warehouse Project set.

Fatboy Slim

Fatboy Slim, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 22 November

With timeless house tunes like ‘Praise You’ and Right Here, Right Now’, Fatboy Slim has become the soundtrack for a generation. Pioneering the big beat genre, alongside his innovative videos, his renowned live performances, and his undeniable and long-lasting cultural impact – I don’t use the word “legend” lightly, but there’s truly no other way to describe Fatboy Slim. With his handpicked line-up, Fatboy Slim has enormous acts such as Vintage Culture, LF System and Oden & Fatzo joining in on The Warehouse Party groove.

Their DJ set is bound to be a highlight of the Warehouse Project’s club classics night; The Haçienda – inspired by Manchester’s iconic 80s ad 90s night club of the same name.

Barry Can’t Swim

WHO x Eat Your Own Ears: Curated by Barry Can’t Swim, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 29 November

There’s a good reason why everyone’s talking about Barry Can’t Swim. The Scottish producer takes jazz, house and downtempo beats and transforms it all into pure euphoria. He’ll be bringing his genre-bending goodness to Depot Mayfield, with his own curated line-up featuring both established and rising talents such as Joy Orbison, Sbtrkt, salute, Hunee and more. Hannah Laing

Hannah Laing Presents Doof, Concourse only, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 27 September.

Hard house DJ and producer Hannah Laing is headlining festivals left, right and centre. For the uninitiated, Hannah’s 2024 Summer may look like an overnight success, but the Scottish talent has been on the grind, releasing music since 2014. In 2023 she broke into the mainstream with UK Top 10 single ‘Good Love’ ft. RoRo. Her dedicated fanbase are so passionate about Hannah’s label Doof, there are viral TikTok videos of fans getting the logo tattooed. Patrick Topping

Trick, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Friday 11 October

British DJ Patrick Topping rose to international acclaim with house anthems like ‘Be Sharp Say Nowt’. A track that’s only seven years old, but feels like a verified club classic.
Cultivating community was always at the heart of Patrick Topping’s philosophy. Launching his label, Trick, in 2019 was a no brainer. Characterised by its innovative events and a focus on nurturing both emerging and established talent, Trick reflects Patrick Topping’s commitment to giving back to the culture he loves.
His curated Warehouse Project event promises a heady house lineup with Eats Everything, Boys Noize, Cloonee and many more joining the party.

Black Coffee

Black Coffee, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 26 October

Black Coffee is renowned for his unique fusion of African rhythms and house music. Despite a challenging childhood, including partial paralysis from a car accident, the South African DJ and producer rose to prominence in the early 2000s. Counting headline performances at Coachella and Tomorrowland and accolades that include a BET Award and a Grammy for his album Subconsciously, Black Coffee has made his mark on the dance music scene.
Twenty years into his career, he continues pushing himself to new heights. Just last year he released Rapture Pt. III. With a build that will break your heart, this introspective blend of afro house and melodic techno is one of the best Black Coffee drops yet.
Join his headline show on Saturday 26 October.

Honey Dijon

Repercussion, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 14 September

Born and raised in the birth place of house music, Honey Dijon embodies everything those original Chicago DJs were about. She is renowned for her eclectic mixes of house, techno, and disco, her vocal advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and transgender visibility, and her impeccable taste and influence as a fashion icon. Honey Dijon’s live shows are renowned for their energy, originality and fun. She knows precisely how to make people move. Her recent collaboration with Jamie XX; ‘Baddy On The Floor’ describes exactly what a Honey Dijon set at The Warehouse Project will look like.

Jayda G

Black Coffee, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 26 October

Listening to Jayda G is like receiving a warm hug from a friend. Blending house, disco, and funk, the Canadian-born, London-based DJ brings the good vibes. With an environmental degree in toxicology, she often combines her two passions and raises awareness on environmental issues through her music.
Back in 2020, Jayda G and the then-little-known producer Fred again.. joined forces to gift the world with ‘Both of Us.’ The track is a masterpiece. ‘Both of Us’ gives a nod to nostalgic house music while bringing a little freshness and something that’s uniquely Jayda’s. It’s understated and uplifting. It’s one of my favourite house anthems of all time.

Jazzy

XXL, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 30 November

Jazzy is one of the most exciting voices emerging out of Ireland. With multiple tunes that have over 100 million streams, saying she’s “one to watch” is a little redundant. There’s just something very special about her. Blending house music and pop, Jazzy’s instantly recognisable thanks to her undeniably catchy hooks. Miraculously fitting perfectly in both the club scene and on radio format, Jazzy stands apart as both a DJ and singer. After lending her vocals to the Belters Only hit ‘Make Me Feel Good’ in 2022, the world was paying attention. With ‘Giving Me’ we were hooked. Witness the future of dance and pop take The Warehouse Project stage.

Oi, Oi, Drum and Bass

Bou

Hedex, Bowlers Exhibition Center, The Warehouse Project, Friday 4 October

The British drum and bass producer always delivers heavy basslines, and catchy rhythms. Chase and Status and Bou’s enormous collaboration ‘Baddadan’ featuring. the vocal talents of IRAH, Flowdan, Trigga and Takura was like the drum and bass equivalent of The Avengers assembling. It shook the drum and bass community, just like it’ll no doubt be shaking the speakers at the Bowlers Exhibition Center on Friday 4 October.

Dimension

Worried About Henry 10th Birthday, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 23 October

Dimension’s ability to craft catchy, festival-ready drum and bass anthems has played a significant role in the resurgence of drum and bass across the globe. As a Kiwi I should know, his breakout hit ‘Desire’ is an honorary national anthem in New Zealand.
The London-based DJ and producer selected his stage name wisely. His precise blend of cinematic soundscapes and powerful basslines tends to send fans – quite literally – into another dimension. But it’s his flare for drama that really gets me going. Crisp suits and pyrotechnics are at the core of his aesthetic. Internationally renowned drum and bass DJ or villain in a Bond film? Someone needs to make that crossover happen.

Sub Focus & Dimension - Desire

Hedex

Hedex, Bowlers Exhibition Center, The Warehouse Project, Friday 4 October

Rising out of Cambridge, Hedex is known for his energetic, jump-up style of drum and bass. He produces the sort of music that’s fun to listen to while you commute through the Underground, imagining you’re a character in a videogame. Is life a simulation? Next thing you know you’re on the Warehouse Project floor, absolutely losing it to ‘Liquor and Cigarettes’.

Hybrid Minds

Worried About Henry 10th Birthday, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 23 October

Hybrid Minds are leaders in the liquid drum and bass scene. While they’re certainly not shy of a heavy bassline, the UK drum and bass duo are all about lush and layered melodies, emotional lyrics and atmospheric production. During a Hybrid Minds set, it’s not uncommon to see strangers and friends alike hugging each other and taking a moment to say, “I love you, man.” And healthy expressions of love are always a beautiful thing.

Hybrid Minds - Touch (ft. Catching Cairo)

Ben Böhmer

Ben Böhmer , Albert Hall, The Warehouse Project, Thursday 14 November

Nobody makes melodic house like Ben Böhmer. The German DJ and producer is a wielder of emotion. He’ll take you from crying in the shower to full euphoria on the dancefloor. Böhmer is known for his dynamic live performances. Going above and beyond a DJ set, he uses synthesizers and live instruments, recreating his music in real time. His headline Warehouse Project show at Albert Hall will be a goose-bump-inducing affair.

Kidnap feat. Leo Stannard - Moments (Ben Böhmer & Nils Hoffmann Remix) [Official Music Video]

Berlioz

Repercussion, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 14 September

Jazz and house music made a baby, and his name is Berlioz. The Cornish DJ, producer, and sound designer’s debut EP Jazz Is For Ordinary People sums up his philosophy. He’s introducing a whole new audience to the experimental joy of jazz. Live, Berlioz is known for performing his deep house and ambient beats, surrounded by young jazz musicians, creating a richly textured and deep experience. While he has long established a name for himself in the underground electronic scene, there’s a buzz around Berlioz, and it only getting louder.

berlioz - deep in it

Bonobo

Repercussion, Depot Mayfield, The Warehouse Project, Saturday 14 September

Listening to Bonobo soothes my nervous system in a way I’ve heard other people describe the effects of meditation. His music is as suited to a tear-inducing montage as it is a transcendent boogie. With strings and woodwinds and samples from genres like jazz, soul, and world music, the British musician and producer blends electronic beats with live instrumentation. His live performances feature full bands, creating an immersive experience. Strap in for a spiritual awakening with Bonobo at The Warehouse Project’s Repercussion.
