Sting & Shaggy have announced joint UK dates
The Grammy Award-winning duo will be celebrating last year's 44/876 collaboration.
Following last night’s Grammys, where Sting & Shaggy were awarded Best Reggae Album for their collaboration 44/876, the pair have announced their return to the UK with The 44/876 Tour.
The album, referencing both Sting’s UK and Shaggy’s Jamaica dialling code, reached the top ten in the official UK album chart upon release in April 2018. Filled with original material, the record includes single Don’t Make Me Wait.
Sting rose to fame as a founding member of The Police in the late ’70s, going on to also release 12 solo albums. Shaggy released his debut full-length in 1993, becoming a household name with the likes of Boombastic and It Wasn’t Me.
Following years in the music industry, the pair met through a mutual friend and began recording together. What started as a single song soon became an album, and 44/876 was realised.
Since releasing the record, Sting & Shaggy have appeared together on many TV shows and have performed live on various occasions. Sting has discussed his love of Jamaican culture and reggae music, a sound which underpinned much of The Police’s work.
Similarly, Shaggy has acknowledged the importance of Sting and The Police for pushing reggae sounds into the mainstream.
Now the pair are gearing up to tour across England, appearing in London, Newcastle, Birmingham and Manchester in May 2019.

19 May 2019 – Roundhouse, London
