Final names announced for Reading and Leeds Festival

N.E.R.D, Big Heath, Twisted Wheel and Russell Kane have joined the line-up.

Today the last wave of names were confirmed for Reading and Leeds Festival 2018. Organisers just revealed that N.E.R.D, Big Heath, Twisted Wheel and Russell Kane are all set to make appearances at this year’s incredible edition.

These artists join headliners Kendrick Lamar, Kings of Leon, Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco as well as artists including Skepta, Wolf Alice, Annie Mac, Dua Lipa, J Hus, Diplo, Ms Banks, Wale Waves, Sigrid, Wretch 32 and Yungen, plus comedians like Harry Hill, Joel Dommett, Chris Ramsey and many more.

Hip hop pioneers N.E.R.D from Virginia have made several UK festival appearances this summer performing a selection of their biggest hits. The trio released their fifth studio album, No_One Ever Really Dies, late last year, featuring the hit Lemon with Rihanna.

Earlier today comedian Russell Kane announced a new show he’ll be touring in 2019 called The Fast and the Curious. Catch him at Reading & Leeds before he hits the road next year to motor through love, family and life – and prove that the fast and the curious among us, see more stuff and get more done.

Who is playing Reading and Leeds Festival?

Headline duties across both sites will be taken by Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Panic! At The Disco and Kings of Leon. The Main Stage will also host appearances by the likes of Travis Scott, The Kooks, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Sum 41, Courtneers, The Vaccines, Krept x Konan and more.

Elsewhere the festival welcomes Wolf Alice, Pendulum and Diplo as BBC Radio 1 Stage headliners, joined by the likes of Nothing But Thieves, Wizkid, Deaf Havana, Slaves, Don Broco and more.

The Dance Stage sees top billing by Annie Mac, Netsky B2B Jauz B2B Slushii, and Hannah Wants, as well as Bicep, Alan Walker, My Nu Leng and more.

Hosting the best in alternative rock, The Pit and The Lock Up welcome headliners Underoath, Papa Roach and Hollywood Undead, joined by The Used, Beartooth, The Bronx, La Dispute, Stray From The Path and more.

The Horrors, Kate Nash and Tom Grennan take top billing on the Festival Republic Stage, welcoming Death From Above, The Magic Gang, Hinds, Bad Sounds, Spring King and more.

Dedicated to urban music, the BBC Radio 1 Xtra Stage hosts Nines, Wretch 32 and AJ Tracey alongside Belly, Yungen, Lady Leshurr, Kojo Funds and more.

Comedy comes courtesy of Harry Hill, Chris Ramsey, Big Shaq (Leeds only), Joel Dommett, Lee Nelson and more.

What’s planned for the BBC Introducing Stage?

Over thirty emerging acts have been announced for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival, taking to the coveted BBC Introducing Stage.

Revealed by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, the line-up will see South Yorkshire’s The Blinders, the soulful Bessie Turner, and rising stars Sports Team take headline duties.

They’ll be joined by Fizzy Blood, Beach Riot, Malika, The Baskervilles, Stereo Honey, Litany and Sun Arcana on Friday 24 August and Saturday 25 August in Reading and Leeds respectively.

Yizzy, The Dunts, Skinny Pelembe, Nonamedisciple, Dylan Cartlidge and Sit Down join Bessie Turner on Saturday 25 August in Reading and Sunday 26 August in Leeds.

The line-up is completed by Pizzagirl, Lady Bird, The Scruff, Valeras, Tina Major9, Beth Thornton and October Drift on Sunday 26 August in Reading and Friday 24 August in Leeds.

“Playing at Reading and Leeds is a huge deal for everyone,” Huw Stephens says. “The BBC Music Introducing stage is a platform for new artists, so to play it during the weekend stays with the bands for ever. This year is promising to be another great one!”

The stage has historically also hosted some huge names for very special sets, still to be revealed.

In the past it has welcomed early appearances by the likes of Florence and The Machine, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Slaves, The 1975, George Ezra and more.

The news follows the recent additions to the Alternative Stage.

Kojey Radical, B. Traits, Kae Kurd and Shazia Mirza joined the Leeds Festival bill, as well as confirmation that local label Dance On The Radio will curate a stage at the northern site.

The additions arrived as organisers confirmed that Saturday day tickets for Reading Festival had sold out. Stage times have also been revealed each site, and can be found either via the official app (Reading Festival | Leeds Festival) or on the official Reading Festival and Leeds Festival websites.

As ever, the line-up boasts the best across a broad range of genres, including stages dedicated to electronic and alternative rock. The Alternative Stage boasts a bill of top-class comedy, with up-and-coming artists taking to the BBC Introducing Stage.

Both sides will host late night entertainment.
