Courteeners to lead Raise The Roof event in Manchester

The charity event takes to the city's O2 Victoria Warehouse on Friday 24 May 2019.

Some of the biggest and most influential artists from Greater Manchester will join forces to tackle homelessness and raise money for A Bed Every Night at the newly announced Raise The Roof event, coming to the O2 Victoria Warehouse Manchester on Friday 24 May 2019.

The event will be headlined by the Courteeners who have dominated both their local and nationwide scene since the release of 2008 iconic St. Jude. They’ll be joined on the night by Stockport five-piece Blossoms, grime artist Bugzy Malone, pop legend Lisa Stansfield, punk-poet Dr. John Cooper Clarke and Radio X presenter and DJ Sunta Templeton.

The evening also promises more surprise guests from the world of sport, TV and comedy.

Access will be available by public ballot, with fans being asked to make a £10 donation to the Great Manchester Mayor’s charity, raising money for the A Bed Every Night scheme.

To enter the ballot, and to make a £10 donation, fans should text the word RAISE to 84988 before midday on Friday 3 May 2019. Note this is a strictly 16+ event, and anybody aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

1,600 fans will each receive a pair of tickets, and will be contacted from Monday 6 May 2019.

“Rough sleeping on the streets of Greater Manchester is a crisis all of us need to confront and by joining forces we can really make a difference,” says Courteeners lead singer Liam Fray of the A Bed Every Night scheme.

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester adds of the event: “I am immensely grateful to all the performers taking part and proud of the stand our city is taking on the homelessness crisis. If we all work together, we can end the need for rough-sleeping here and send out a message of hope in these dark times.”

HOW TO APPLY FOR TWO FREE TICKETS
Text the word RAISE to 84988.

Once we receive confirmation of your entry, a one-off voluntary donation of £10 will be made to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity supporting A Bed Every Night. You can opt out of the donation by replying CANCEL to your entry confirmation text within 30 minutes.

Entry texts will be charged at your standard network message rate. You need to be 16 or over and have the bill payer’s permission to enter.

The application for tickets will close at noon (12pm) on Friday 3rd May 2019. Please do not enter after this time as your entry will not count but you will still be charged.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Those attending the concert need to be 16 or over.

The ticket application period will run from 5:00pm on Tuesday 9th April 2019 to noon (12pm) on Friday 3rd May 2019.

Entry to the prize draw is only by texting the keyword RAISE to short code 84988. Text messages cost your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates – please check with your provider). Entrants will then receive a free bounce-back message from 84988 informing them that a voluntary donation of £10 to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity supporting A Bed Every Night will be taken 30 minutes after the entry text was received, unless they reply to 84988 with the word CANCEL before 30 minutes has passed.

For the avoidance of doubt, opting out of the voluntary donation will not affect your entry into the prize draw.

If your keyword or short code are invalid, or your text message is received outside the times and dates specified for the prize draw, you will not receive a bounce-back message but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be donating to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity supporting A Bed Every Night nor will you have entered the ticket application draw.

You may enter the ticket application a maximum of four times in total per mobile number.

You will receive a free bounce-back message regarding the donation each time, and if you wish to opt out of the donation you need to respond to each such message received from 84988 with the word CANCEL.

Successful applicants will be selected using an independent randomised draw system from Monday 6th May 2019 and sent a redemption code for 2 free tickets to the show. You will have 24 hours from that point to redeem your tickets before your code becomes invalid.

All attendees at the concert consent to being filmed or recorded (images and sound) by or on behalf of us, the Organiser or another authorised third party, and consent to their images (or likenesses) being used in any film, recording, photograph or other footage (“Recording”) of the Event. All rights in the Recording shall be owned by the Organiser, authorised third party or us absolutely. You agree that any Recording may be used by us, the Organiser or authorised third party in any media and for any purpose throughout the world, including, without limitation, for promotional materials and activities, merchandise, DVD’s or other commercial activities. No payment or compensation for use of your image or likeness shall be payable to you.
