Following a hugely successful debut earlier this year, Out on the Floor returns and this time will be heading to Opera House Blackpool on Saturday 25 August 2018.

The Motown music event is back with renowned composter Joe Duddell who alongside Manchester Camerata Orchestra, will perform hits from the musical era.

The audience will be able to dance and sing along to ballads and party classics such as Jimmy Radcliffes’s Long After Tonight is Over,  Frank Wilson’s Do I Love You and the most important and recognisable song from Motown, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Motown legends Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

“The more I delve into the Northern Soul catalogue the more I think we have a duty to get these songs back out there with an orchestra as originally recorded,” Dudell says. “Uncovering the fantastic musicianship behind some of the original arrangements has been a privilege. At times I’ve stayed as faithful as possible to the originals, but I’ve also looked at certain songs from a fresh perspective.”

Motown music began popular in the 1960s. Its soulful mood with a distinctive pop sound made the likes of Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, The Supremes and more become household names worldwide.

Out on the Floors joins a whole summer of shows at Blackpool such as Rock of Ages, Summer Holiday: The Musical and many more.
