Listen: Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke remixes ‘Obscene’
Bloc Party’s front-man Kele Okereke has remixed the band’s recent track ‘Obscene’.
‘Obscene’ features on their ‘The Nextwave Sessions’ EP and Okereke’s remix will appear on his forthcoming Tapes mix for !K7 Records.
Okereke said of the remix, “I’ve been exploring the idea of remixing other people’s music recently and I’m really enjoying it.
“You can be a lot less precious about things. I turned what is a rather sombre ballad into a jacked-up early ‘90s house track. Remixing is a good way of being creative without getting too attached to something.”
Kele Okereke’s Tapes mix for !K7 is released on October 14 and you can listen to his rework of ‘Obscene’ below:
