Following the release of the critically acclaimed DAMN., rapper and all-round hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar has announced another UK date as part of his international tour. He’ll now be playing a third London show, at the SSE Arena Wembley on Tuesday 20 February 2018.
His fourth studio album followed the critical and commercial success of 2012’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly, both of which spawned charting hits including Swimming Pools (Drank) and Alright.
DAMN. lead single HUMBLE. peaked at No.1 on the United States Billboard chart, certified three times platinum.
Kendrick Lamar rose to fame in his hometown of Compton, Los Angeles, where he reportedly witnessed the talent of hip-hop forefathers Dr. Dre and 2Pac during their video shoot for the iconic California Love.
Dr. Dre ultimately became a champion of Kendrick Lamar, and worked on a number of tracks from across Lamar’s early mixtapes and albums.
DAMN. debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar’s third album to reach the top spot. To do it’s sold over 2.3 million copies worldwide, with over 400 million streams. Lamar also celebrates a total of seven Grammy Awards, making him one of the biggest names in hip-hop across the globe.
His tour will see him joined in the UK by electronic experimenter James Blake, with whom Kendrick Lamar collaborated with on DAMN..
It showcases Kendrick’s willingness to work across genre boundaries, having also released charting singles with the likes of Sia, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift and Beyonce, among many others.
Kendrick, signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, will be touring the UK and Ireland on the following dates:
