When Embrace look back at their considerable album output two records stand out to them above all else. Their debut, 1998’s The Good Will Out – which went gold on its day of release, shattering all expectations and turning the band from relative unknowns into chart-topping superstars – and 2004’s Out Of Nothing, a triumphant No.1 riposte to the major label that dared to drop them a few years prior.

Not only do the two records hold a special place in the hearts of those who made them but they’re also adored by the West Yorkshire group’s fans, whose lives have been greatly enriched by songs from them such as All You Good Good People, Come Back To What You Know, Ashes and the Coldplay-penned Gravity.

Proving that great songs are timeless the band have recently found themselves in the highly sought-after position of attracting a whole new fan base, with a new generation of fans streaming Embrace’s back catalogue in the millions.

To celebrate the albums and to give something back to those who have stood by them throughout the years – not to mention the legions of newcomers – Embrace will perform both albums from start to finish at special shows in Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds in March 2020.

Ahead of the gigs, siblings Danny and Richard McNamara from the band sit down to discuss what fans coming to the shows can expect.
