Organisers of British Summer Time Hyde Park have today confirmed that the legendary Bob Dylan and Neil Young will be co-headlining the 2019 edition of the festival.
Both artists will take to the stage in the iconic London park on Friday 12 July 2019.
Returning for its seventh year, British Summer Time has been bringing some of the world’s biggest artists to the capital for unforgettable nights in a truly unique venue. Artists who have played British Summer Time down the years include The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, The Cure, Eric Clapton and loads more.
A true icon of music, Bob Dylan is responsible for creating some of the most timeless and influential albums of all time, such as The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, Highway 61 Revisited, Blood on the Tracks and Modern Times. The ten-time Grammy Award winner has released a total of thirty-six studio albums in his career and over ninety-one singles.
As a songwriter, Dylan is widely cited as a major influence on some of the biggest artists ever in music. Known for tracks such as Shelter from the Storm, Blowin’ in the Wind, The Times They Are A-Changin’ and the seminal Like a Rolling Stone, Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.
Breaking through in the ’60s Los Angeles rock scene as one of the founding members of Buffalo Springfield as well as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Neil Young has been releasing hit records at a nearly unmatchable prolificacy. Some of his best-known solo records include Harvest, After The Goldrush and On The Beach.
Young released his latest record The Visitor in 2017 and the album’s opening Already Great is a direct riposte to the current US President’s campaign slogan. The record is his second which features the American rock band Promise of the Real, who feature in the critically acclaimed movie A Star Is Born.
Neil Young is widely known for singles such as Heart of Gold, Old Man, Rockin’ In the Free World and Harvest Moon.
