More acts announced for Download Festival 2020

Here's who'll be heading to Donington Park next year, and how to get tickets.

Organisers of Download Festival have confirmed the second wave of artists for next year’s festival, to join their previously announced headliners.

The festival will return to its Donington Park home from 12-14 June 2020.

Joining the line-up are Volbeat, the Danish rockabilly and metal fusion outfit who are set to offer a memorable live show following the release of their seventh studio album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound back in August.

Killswitch Engage will also take to the stage at Donington Park to give their fans a metalcore set to remember. Garnering half a billion streams, the metallers have earned three consecutive Top 10 debuts and several Grammy Award nominations.

Kawaii metal superstars BABYMETAL will be returning to Download for another flawless and unique performance of J-pop and metal fusion. Their announcement follows the success of their latest album Metal Galaxy and will follow on from their highly-anticipated UK tour in February 2020.

In addition, the festival welcomes The Pretty Reckless, Airbourne, Skillet, Baroness, Lit, Bush, Wednesday 13, British Lion and many more.

These newly announced acts join legendary New York hard-rockers KISS, who will return to the UK to headline Download Festival in 2020. The band, who recently completed their End of the Road tour to rave reviews will bring their theatrical pyro-filled live show to Donington Park, where fans can expect to hear classic tracks such as Detroit Rock City, I Was Made For Lovin’ You and Rock And Roll All Nite.

2020 will see Iron Maiden headline Download Festival on the Saturday night. The Bruce Dickenson led-band have a long history with the festival, having headlined the first Download back in 2003. The band have just completed a sell out tour of the US and their set at Download will be one of only two UK festival appearances they make in 2020.

Dickenson comments: “It is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020 and we will certainly go to town and add a few extra items to the show. This will be our seventh time headlining at Donington Park. It’s home turf and we all really enjoy playing this Festival, the vibe from the crowd is always fantastic”.

Completing the headliners for 2020 will be California rockers System Of A Down. Their set is a UK Festival exclusive and will mark the first time the band has played in the UK for three years. Fans can look forward to hearing tracks from their five platinum-selling albums such as Chop Suey!, B.Y.O.B. and Toxicity

Completing today’s announcement is the news that Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Gojira, Disturbed, Alestorm, Black Veil Brides, Daughtry and Of Mice And Men will all appear at the June weekender.

Last year’s festival was a triumphant success, with revellers enjoying raucous sets from the likes of Slipknot, Slayer and loads more.

Download Festival will take place at Donington Park, Leicestershire from 12-14 June 2020.
