Halifax Piece Hall’s VIP Experience: Everything you need to know
Want to make your experience of Halifax's Piece Hall just as historic as the venue itself? Well you can with the concert series' VIP tickets
It’s safe to say that the Piece Hall, situated in the heart of Halifax, is nothing short of an architectural marvel. A former cloth hall which dates back to 1779, the freestone Piece Hall’s vast courtyard initially brought wool yarn merchants and buyers together from all corners of West Yorkshire.
Today, it serves a similar purpose in luring people to its luxurious surrounds from far beyond the fringes of the county – just for a very different reason.
Having achieved Grade I listed status in 1954, the UK’s only surviving cloth hall from the 18th century fell into disrepair before becoming the subject of a £19 million restoration campaign in 2014. Three years later, the two-tiered Piece Hall had re-opened, its arches renovated to its former Georgian stonework glory.
Since then, the 7,500 capacity venue has provided an arresting backdrop for open-air concert series, TK Maxx Presents Live at the Piece Hall.

With Father John Misty performing for the newly-improved Piece Hall’s inaugural concert in the summer of 2017, an enviable list of world-class talent has illuminated the venue’s four walls since: Bryan Adams, Grace Jones, Noel Gallagher, Blondie, Paloma Faith, Pete Tong, Primal Scream, Sir Tom Jones, Hozier, Biffy Clyro, boygenius, Limp Bizkit, Sheryl Crow and Paul Weller, to name a handful.
2025’s concert series invited a similar calibre (and varied range) of musical guests to Halifax, with Elbow, Khruangbin, The Smashing Pumpkins, James, Deftones, Weezer, Train, Busted, The Script, Simple Minds, Travis, Supergrass, Leon Bridges, Texas, and countless more making the journey to West Yorkshire.
So, we’ve established that the venue is as exceptional as the talent performing on stage. But what if we told you there’s also an opportunity to make your experience of the Piece Hall just as historic? Well you can with the concert series’ VIP tickets.

Get the best views of the Piece Hall stage

If you’re paying to see one of your favourite bands or artists, you ideally want to actually be able to see them. Thankfully, with the Piece Hall’s VIP tickets you’ll get an incredible vantage point of the main stage without having to worry about the tallest person imaginable standing in front of you, or having to duck from the flailing arms in a mosh pit.
With both the Balcony and the Live At Lounge upgrades, ticket holders will gain access to the upper tier of the Piece Hall. Stretching around the venue’s perimeter, from any point upstairs there’s a stellar view of the stage. Peering through the freestone pillars, it feels like you’ve got your own personal box at a lavish theatre. If it rains (hopefully it won’t, but this is England after all…) at least you’re covered.
It’s not just the stage you get a superb sight of either. Up top you can witness the sprawling crowd singing along, the neighbouring church spire loom over the Piece Hall’s stage, the entire venue’s fairy lights twinkle as dusk settles in, and the rolling hills of West Yorkshire in the distance.
Queues? What queues?

No longer do you have to wait for snaking queues to enter the impressive Piece Hall’s main plaza, no matter what time you decide to rock up to the event.
With VIP tickets, you can waltz through the front doors seamlessly as there’s a separate lane for VIP guests. No waiting? No problem. Just make sure you get there before the last entry time stated, of course.
Private bars with instant service

We’ve all surely been gasping for a mid-gig beverage, decided to take one for the team and queue up for the drink only to be stuck waiting whilst someone in front decides to order the most complicated cocktail going, eventually missing your favourite song in the process.
Never fear. With the Piece Hall’s VIP Balcony tickets, you gain access to private bar on the top tier. With the Live At Lounge tickets, there’s a completely separate bar tucked away from the crowds, adorned in music memorabilia to get you royally amped up.
Not only do these private bars serve a mouth-watering smorgasbord of drinks on tap or otherwise – draft beer or IPA’s, Prosecco, spirit and mixers – there’s literally no queue to worry about. Consider your thirsts quenched in no time.
Feel the relief with top-tier toilets

This is often the question perched on the tip of the tongue when gig-goers decide if elevating their live music with a VIP ticket is worth it. “Are the toilets… better?”
Luckily, with the Piece Hall’s lavatories, everything is spotlessly clean. The venue was only rejuvenated several years ago so the loos are as sanitary as they can get. With the VIP tickets, you get quick and easy access to the toilets through the glass doors at the rear of the venue on the balcony which takes you all the way to the facilities. Lovely stuff.
