Hit play Witness for the Prosecution is now booking until March 2019, as it celebrates going into its second year in the West End. The production takes place in the magnificent setting of the London County Hall Building.

Running inside the County Hall’s ornate Chamber, its the latest production of Agatha Christie’s classic courtroom drama, directed by Lucy Bailey.

Leonard Vole is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. The stakes are high. Will Leonard survive the shocking witness testimony? Will he be able to convince the jury of his innocence and escape the hangman’s noose?

Previous adaptations of the classic drama include Billy Wilder’s 1957 film version starting Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Charles Loughton; a miniseries – based on the Christie’s original short story, and not the play – aired on BBC One last Christmas, starring Toby Jones as solicitor John Mayhew, Kim Cattrall as the victim Emily French and Billy Howle as Leonard Vole. It also featured Andrea Riseborough, and Sarah Phelps.

The landmark production of Witness for the Prosecution – which marks the first new setting of an Agatha Christie play since the 1960s, and has been delighting fans of the playwright’s classic works – currently stars Richard Atlee as Carter and Dr Wyatt, Philip Franks as Mr Myers QC, Lucy Phelps as Romaine Vole, Harry Reird as Leonard Vole, and Julian Curry as Mr Justice Wainwright.
