What’s up Wilma?

Hello my dears, how are we all? Keeping warm in this cold weather I hope?

Horrifyingly my big news this week is that my house caught fire (due to a coat falling onto a candle), but luckily I went into showbiz overdrive and no one was badly injured. That’ll teach me for doing Billy Elliot pirouettes in the living room!

Beautiful things
Beautiful Thing opens in Canterbury on 23 March and runs until July in Brighton. Charlie Brooks (the East End murderer of Walford, Janine Butcher) will star alongside Thomas Law and Sam Jackson. More dates to be announced. Finally, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None opens at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 12 January 2015 starring Paul Nicholas and Verity Rushworth.

Cats - 6th July 2014

Everybody wants to be a cat
Cats at the London Palladium started previews this week starring Nicole Scherzinger. The production, which is only booking for a limited run, has apparently taken more than £6million at the box office already, so there’s a chance that the show could be clawing its way back into the West End for a more permanent run in 2015.

Dirty, pretty things
I went to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels last week with new cast members including Alex Gaumond, Bonnie Langford and Gary Wilmot, starring alongside Robert Lindsay and Katherine Kingsley. If you haven’t been down to the Savoy Theatre to check this out yet, I can’t recommend it highly enough! It’s a great fun British-feeling comedy with catchy songs and a hilarious story. There are rumours circulating that the Chichester revival of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton will be replacing Scoundrels early next year so don’t miss your chance to see it while you can.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS

Non-stop comedy
This week I went to see The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre. Despite the show having been around for eight years, I’m ashamed to say that I have only just got around to seeing it! It’s a hilarious, fast paced comedy based on the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. Just four actors play over 100 different roles in just over an hour and a half and it’s certainly worth a watch if you haven’t seen it before!

39 steps Train Kiss

On Sunday I’m going to see Room On The Broom at the Lyric Theatre. If you have small children then this is the perfect show to take them to. Or if you’re just a big kid at heart like me! I saw it last Christmas and can’t wait to go back again so why not check it out over the holidays?

Speaking of the festive season, I’m doing a practice run of a new mince pie recipe I saw on TV so I’d best go and check the oven – I don’t want the house catching fire again, do I!

Until next week, love and lols,
