Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington will appear alongside Johnny Flynn (Beast, Genius) as Austin and Lee in the debut West End production of Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-winning True West.

Internationally renowned as Jon Snow in the fantasy series, Kit Harington’s theatre credits include War Horse, Posh, The Vote and most recently in the title role in Doctor Faustus at the Duke Of York’s Theatre.

Flynn most recently appeared on the big screen in critically acclaimed psychological thriller Beast. His theatre credits include various Shakespearean roles, as well as The Low Road and Hangmen, both at London’s Royal Court Theatre.

True West follows sparring brothers Austin and Lee after Austin sells a movie script to producer Saul Kimmer. Looking for a piece of the action, Lee pitches his own idea to Saul, with serious consequences.

The play is set in the Californian desert, depicting the collapse of the American Dream as the brothers tear their family apart.

True West has been critically lauded, with the New York Post naming it Sam Shepard’s “masterwork”. Variety dubbed the play “scaldingly funny”.

Harington and Flynn arrive at London’s Vaudeville Theatre for a limited series of the Matthew Dunster directed play from the 23 November 2018. True West is booking until 16 February 2019.
