Currently touring across the UK, the stage premiere of The Girl On The Train will arrive at London’s Duke of York’s Theatre from 23 July until 17 August 2019.

Based on the internationally acclaimed novel by Paula Hawkins, the brand new play stars Samantha Womack as the lead protagonist Rachel Watson. She’s joined by Oliver Farnworth as Scott Hipwell, John Dougall as D.I Gaskill, Lowenna Melrose as Anna Watson and Kirsty Oswald as Megan Hipwell.

The cast is completed by Adam Jackson Smith as Tom Watson, Naeem Hayat as Kamal Abdic, Phillipa Flynn and Matt Concannon.

Womack is best known for playing Ronnie Mitchell in the long-running BBC drama EastEnders, as well as leading roles in Mount Pleasant and Game On, as well as appearing on the big screen in the Kingsman series.

Farnworth has starred in both Hollyoaks and Coronation Street.

The Girl On The Train follows Rachel as she longs for a different life. Watching a seemingly perfect couple through the train window, Rachel’s world is turned upside down when she learns of the woman’s disappearance and finds herself intertwined in the mystery.

Originally written by Paula Hawkins, the novel was adapted for the big screen back in 2016 and starred Emily Blunt and Luke Evans.

The stage production has already celebrated critical acclaim ahead of its limited West End run, with WhatsOnStage declaring it “a must”, and the Daily Echo calling it “a first class thriller filled with dramatic twists and turns”.
