The full Paddington The Musical soundtrack is now available on streaming
You can now stream every song from the smash hit new musical about Britain’s favourite bear
You can now listen to the Paddington The Musical soundtrack from the comfort of your home. The smash-hit West End musical at the Savoy Theatre has released its full soundtrack on streaming, with a physical release on vinyl, CD and Yoto to follow on 22 May.
The musical, which has racked up an impressive eleven Olivier Award nominations, features songs by McFly’s Tom Fletcher, with orchestrations and arrangements by Matt Brind.
In an interview with The Times last year, Tom revealed that he found writing songs for Paddington easier than he did writing pop music. “In a musical, you know exactly who is singing and where they are in their life,” he said. “Writing pop songs as a 40-year-old, it’s a bit challenging to figure out what it is you want to say.”
The soundtrack for Paddington The Musical was recorded at the iconic Abbey Road-studios by the West End cast and a full orchestra, with Matt Brind producing.
Ahead of the full soundtrack release by Decca Records, part of Universal Music UK, the show dropped a string of singles. Composer Tom Fletcher was featured on versions of ‘The Explorer & The Bear’, ‘Pretty Little Dead Things’ and ‘One Of Us’, before the show’s cast released single ‘Marmalade’ on 5 March.
