Ray Quinn joins Summer Holiday The Musical cast
The brand new production will reach Blackpool in July 2018.
Based on the 1960’s film starring Cliff Richard and The Shadows, the brand new production of Summer Holiday The Musical is heading to Blackpool for one week only. Featuring all the No.1 hits from the film, plus additional Cliff Richard classics, the famous red double-decker bus will make a stop at the Opera House Blackpool from the 24 – 28 July 2018.
The production has now confirmed Ray Quinn in the title role of Don, made famous in the film by Cliff Richard. Ray became a household name during the 2006 series of The X Factor, finishing in the runner-up position. He has since released a No.1 solo album, won two series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice and starred in various stage productions. His theatre credits include Danny Zuko in the West End production of Grease, the West End’s Dirty Dancing, the UK tour of Legally Blonde, and in the touring production of The Wedding Singer.
Summer Holiday tells the story of Don and his fellow London Transport mechanics as they journey in a double-decker bus to Paris, the Alps, Italy and Greece. On their adventure, they pick up a girl singing group and a young American pop star on the run from her overbearing mother.
“Summer Holiday is another fantastic addition to our 2018 line-up,” Winter Gardens Blackpool said when announcing the production, which joins an already exciting season of shows including Shrek, Fat Friends and many more.
The musical features hit tracks such as In The Country, Summer Holiday, Travellin’ Light, Bachelor Boy, Move It, Living Doll, The Young Ones and On The Beach.
Tickets for Summer Holiday are on sale now through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
