Six the Musical to return to London
After a short UK tour, Six will return to the Arts Theatre
Widely recognised as one of the most exciting new British musicals in years, Six is currently enjoying a sold-out run at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End. Already extended due to overwhelming demand, the current run ends on Saturday 14 October 2018, following which the show will embark on a short UK tour.
Now, it has been announced, the show will return the Arts Theatre from next January for an open-ended run.
More than 50,000 seats are set to go on general sale for the new London run for an initial 16-week season from Wednesday 16 January – Sunday 5 May 2019.
Six, by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, initially sold-out its run of more than 10,000 seats at the Edinburgh Fringe, leading to the original London transfer. Following critical acclaim, it has now been nominated for six Off West End Awards, including Best New Musical, Best Musical Production and Best Ensemble.
Six posits the Tudor queens of Henry VIII as pop princesses, bringing them together on stage to take the mic to tell their tales and remix 500 years of historical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red.
