Our weekly round up of this week's biggest new tours, shows and events.
The first of its kind to be designed as a social distanced experience, One Night Records will bring Lockdown Town to a secret London Bridge location this October.
The experience promises friends and family the opportunity to spend a unique night in a carefully designed safe environment.
Beginning with rock & roll, visitors can expect an immersive journey through Harlem jazz, soul, rhythm and blues, and emerge into rag time.
Welcoming up to four people, the safe environment will include live music, food and drink. Individual groups will take the journey through music, with staggered starting times designed to ensure social distancing.
One Night Records: Lockdown Town guarantees to meet all official guidelines on events and gatherings come October, including complementary masks, increased ventilation, no communal areas, suitable washing facilities, multiple hand sanitiser stations, and much more.
“We’re going to do it safely, but we’re going to get people back together and we’re going to give them an amazing night,” says Managing Director Tim Wilson.
“The social distancing is part of the show so guests won’t notice it. We want to give Londoners something to book now and to look forward to.”
Speaking of the event, Head of Artists and Repertoire at One Night Records says: “If the late, great Chuck Berry was right about the rocking pneumonia, then a shot of rhythm & blues is the only cure… and we’re opening the dispensary here in London, so come and get your fix!”
As well as music, Lockdown Town will partner with Britain’s food pioneers to provide exciting food and beverage. packages courtesy of the award-winning baker David Wright. All food will fall in line with the immersive experience, from classics with a twist to a modern take on ration boxes.
One Night Records launches on Friday 2 October 2020, currently booking until Thursday 31 December.
