Christian Slater, Robert Glenister, Kris Marhsall, Standley Townsend and Don Warrington have been confirmed for the West End revival of David Mamet’s Olivier Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play, Glengarry Glen Ross.

Set in an office of cut-throat Chicago salesmen. Pitched in a high-stakes competition against each other, four increasingly desperate employees will do anything, legal or otherwise, to sell the most real estate. As time and luck start to run out, the mantra is simple: close the deal and you’ve won a Cadillac; blow the lead and you’re f****d.

The drama was adapted for the big screen in 1992, featuring Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino as leading characters Shelly Levene and Ricky Roma. It also starred Kevin Spacey as office manager Williamson. Its satirical look at the American Dream continues to be relevant in modern times, perhaps now more so than ever, having claimed the Olivier Award in 1983 and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1984.

Memet premiered Glengarry Glen Ross at the National Theatre in in 1983, and on Broadway the following year. It opened in the West End in 2007, starring Jonathan Pryce.

Christian Slater, known for his iconic roles in Heathers and True Romance will take on the role of Ricky Roma, portrayed by Pacino in the film adaptation. His West End credits include appearances in One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest and Swimming With Sharks. His most recent acting adventures include a Golden Globe winning turn in TV series Mr. Robot.

Glengarry Glen Ross opens at London’s Playhouse Theatre from the 26 October for 14 weeks only. Check back soon for more information, or explore our Theatre Guide now.
