Everything you need to know about Fantastic Mr Fox

Fantastic Mr Fox, Roald Dahl’s classic tale of greed, pride and friendship, comes to life in a brand new production in 2017

As we gear up to celebrate Roald Dahl Day (commemorating what would have been the illustrious author’s 100th birthday), we figured there’s no better time to tell you about this incredible new show. Here’s everything you need to know…

What’s it about?

Based on Roald Dahl’s brilliant novel of the same name, Fantastic Mr Fox brings to life the story of the cunning Mr Fox as he wages war against three horrid farmers.

Boggis, Bunce and Bean are three greedy, smelly, nasty farmers who all hate the dashing Mr Fox. Mr Fox, meanwhile, is smart, clever and rather fantastic – although he doesn’t realise how determined the farmers are to get their revenge.

In this thrilling new production, audiences get to Mr Fox’s plan to save his family and friends come to life before their very eyes.

What else can we expect?

Fantastic Mr Fox is family fun at its finest. A tale of greed, pride and the power of friendship, this is the flagship production for the Roald Dahl 100 celebrations, and it promises to be a huge theatrical feast with live music and songs.

Directed by Maria Aberg (As You Like It, RSC) and designed by Tom Scutt (A Number, Nuffield & Young Vic), this playful re-telling of Dahl’s brilliant and witty story will surely be a stunning stage spectacle.
