Cirque Du Soleil to take OVO on the road across the UK
The spectacular will tour UK arenas from August 2018.
Cirque Du Soleil have confirmed that their OVO production will be touring the UK later next year. The show makes it UK debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in January, before heading to Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham.
The cast of OVO comprises 50 performing artists from 17 countries, including Britain’s Alanna Baker playing the role of Black Spider. She was crowned gymnastics European Champion in 2011 and won Bronze in the World Championships in 2012. She’s already travelled around the globe as part of the OVO cast, returning the UK following stints in Australia and Japan.
The show originally premiered in Montreal in 2009, now offering the same captivating production as the Big Top performances but on a larger scale.
OVO, translated as egg in Portuguese, surrounds a teeming ecosystem, where insects crawl, flutter, work, eat, play, fight and look for love.
Following its London run, the UK tour kicks off in Liverpool on the 16 August, running through to Birmingham on the 7 October.
