Legendary circus entertainment company Cirque du Soleil have confirmed details of their new content hub, CirqueConnect.

CirqueConnect will provide a weekly meeting point for fans to connect with Cirque, to enjoy some of the company’s most awe-inspiring moments from its world-famous shows.

Sheila Morin, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer of Cirque du Soleil comments: “The mission of Cirque du Soleil has always been to provide unique and awe-inspiring experiences. Our shows give our fans a chance to escape into fantasy and imaginary worlds through our stories and unique characters.”

She adds: “Now, more than ever, we need to continue to provide wonderment, even from afar, straight into your homes.’’

The hub will launch at 20:00 on Friday 3 April 2020 with a 60-minute program featuring highlights from three of the company’s most well-known shows: Amaluna, VOLTA, and Bazzar.

Featuring a 70% female cast, Amaluna is loosely based on The Tempest by William Shakespeare. The show first opened in Montreal, Canada in 2012 and toured across the world until closing in California earlier this year.

VOLTA, which first premiered in 2017, is based on extreme sports and features acts such as rope-skipping, aerial straps, BMX riding, acrobatic ladders, hair suspension, and more.

Bazzar first premiered in Mumbai, India in November 2018, becoming the first Cirque production to perform in the country. The show is a homage to the beginnings of Cirque du Soleil, when an intimate troupe of street artists over 30 years ago brought amazement to crowds everywhere they could.

As well as their weekly premiere, CirqueConnect also features virtual reality experiences, tutorials, soundtracks, and more family-friendly content.
