Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to close on West End
Sam Mendes’ production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is to bid farewell to London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane next year.

The hit show will now enjoy its final year on the West End after confirming it will be booking until 7 January 2017.
David Grief’s adaptation of Road Dahl’s classic tale first opened in June 2013 with Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka and has since played to over 1.8 million people.
Jonathan Slinger is currently playing Willy Wonka and will continue in the role alongside other principal cast members including Barry James, Ross Dawes and Josefina Gabrielle.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is directed by Sam Mendes, with music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman.
