Interview: Caroline, Or Change in rehearsal
Cast member Abiona Omonua and director Michael Longhurst chat about the hit musical.
Caroline, Or Change has arrived in London’s West End. The musical, written by celebrated playwright Tony Kushner, already has a Tony Award and an Olivier Award to its name.
The West End production, directed by Michael Longhurst, stars Sharon D Clarke in the title role, joined by Abiona Omonua as Emmie Thibodeaux.
Caroline, Or Change follows the tale of a maid, who is faced with a decision on whether to fight or embrace the changing political and social landscape of Louisiana.
The musical production received rave reviews for its run at the Hampstead Theatre before transferring to the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End.
Ticketmaster recently attended the rehearsals for a glimpse of things to come, and to speak to star Abiona and director Michael Longhurst.
The show is now open at London’s Playhouse Theatre, booking until February 2019.
